जैसे- She and her brother have gone.

जबand से जुडे Singular nouns  एक ही वस्तु या व्यक्ति का बोध कराते है, तो Singular nouns का प्रयोग होता है

जैसे- The poet and the singer have come.

कुछ subjects इन शब्दों द्वारा जोडे जाते है As well as , along with, together with, with, in addition to, like, unlike, but, except, besides etc ऐसे वाक्यो के verbs इन शब्दों से पहले प्रयुक्त होने वाले words के अनुसार Singular या plural होते है

जैसे-  He as well as you is guilty.

यदि वाक्य का subject each, every, either, neither, one, everyone, anyone, no one, someone, nobody, somebody etc  हो तो Singular verb का प्रयोग होता है

दो या दो से अधिक nouns/pronouns यदि or, nor, either… or, neither … nor से जुडे हो तो  verbअपने सबसे नजदीक आने वाले noun/pronoun के अनुसार प्रयुक्त होगा

जैसे- Nether he nor I am coming.

कुछ ऐसे Singular nouns है जो and से जुडे होते है और प्रयोग में बराबर एक साथ आते है ऐसे वक्यों में सदा Singular verb का प्रयोग होता है क्योंकि उनसे एक ही व्यक्ति या भाव का बोध होता है

जैसे- Whisky and soda was served in the party.

यदि clause का subject कोई Relative pronoun (who, which, that) हो ,तोverb उस Relative pronoun से पहले आने वाले nouns/pronouns के अनुसार प्रयुक्त होता है

जैसे- The crew were taken prisoners.

I wish, as if, as though, if  आदि के बाद कल्पना (imagination)या अभिलाषा, जिसकी पूर्ति सम्भव नहीं है, का बोध कराने के लिए Singular subject के साथ Plural verb सामान्यत: were  का प्रयोग होता है
